Kannada film industry has been suffering from lots of flop movies for the past few years and Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has been struggling to find the reasons of the failure and solve them. But somewhere it seems that the reason behind this is KFCC's ignorance. It is said that the KFCC itself is bypassing own rules and regulation. Experts claim that if it had strictly followed them, it could have saved the industry at least to some extent.
The latest example to KFCC's negligence is that six Kannada movies i.e. Hendthira Darbar, Zamana, Holi, Preethi Andhre Ishtena, Parikshe and Rowdy Hrudaya are lined up to release at a time this week. Who gave permission to the producers of all these movies? What is the KFCC doing?
This is not the first time that a bulk of movies are releasing at one go. It has happened many times earlier too. What I want to tell is that the KFCC has a rule, which states that only three movies can be released at a time so that each movie will have enough number of theatres and no producer will suffer loss at the Box Office.
Basanth Kumar Patil, who has recently been elected as the president of the KFCC, had promised so many things to improve the Kannada film industry during his first press meeting. This instance has raised the doubt that whether he is really serious about the industry? Will he be held responsible for this incident?
