Synopsis:
Four nations (Air, Water, Earth, Fire) are tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this destruction. Caught between combat and courage, Aang (Noah Ringer) discovers he is the lone Avatar with the power to manipulate all four elements. Aang teams with Katara (Nicola Peltz), a Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), to restore balance to their war-torn world.
The new movie is directed by M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense) and is scheduled to hit 3D and 2D theaters on July 2nd.

i think this movie will be lame but i think it's first weekend will get a LOT this show is SUPER popular among children, tweens and teens. The fans are both male and female, so you could be getting a real flood. Hannah montanna always does grea tthe first weekend cause it is all girls... other movies do great cause it is all boys.. this is both.. the first week will make a TON... then comes despicable me.... and predator... etc.... but i doubt it will be a flop. It has two built in fanbases: those who love the cartoons and those who (still) like shyamalan. I am not a fan of the show and would not see this movie except that i still like shyamalan despite the atrocity of the happening. SO yeah, this movie is a sure money maker with source material that is still hot and well known... unlike golden compass... or vampire's apprentice. the show came out five years ago, so kids that watched it when the were eleven are now in highschool, so teens, children, families.... if it's PG it will make bank....

i realize this movie is not like hannah montanna in source material. I was just using hannah montanna as an example of a film that has a young fanbase that makes BANK cause of it's young fanbase even though fellow worstpreviews members may be just as disinterested....
so i understand how you thought i was saying they were similar thematically, but no.. They are not thank god. However i do think it's a bit of a stretch to compare a nic show with the genius and poignancy of tolkien.....
