Plot:
A woman tries to get back on her feet after suffering from a devastating break-up.Helena is a talented singer in Buenos Aires. Just as she and her band get a residency at a prestigious theater in the city, the boyfriend she's mad about coldly announces that he doesn't love her any more. The film is punctuated by intense bursts of tango. Every song moves the story along, providing an insight into the characters and access to the protagonist's feelings: nostalgia, passion, sadness, and joy in turn. The lyrical and musical wealth of tango, brilliantly performed by Eugenia Ramírez Miori, unites the two stories, past and present. La Cantante de Tango Spanish Film Synopsis :
Helena is a rising Tango talent who is deeply and madly in love. When she successfully auditions with her band for a residency in a prestigious theatre in Buenos Aires her career looks set to take off. But she is hit by tragedy : the man with whom she is in love will no longer love her back. For Helena, who lives and songs for love, this is the end of the road. Obsessed and tortured by her loss, she can’t get over her heartbreak and becomes a shadow of her former self.
But what if she took off and started all over again? What if she just left behind the sorrow and stepped into new life in a new country? Perhaps she could also leave behind the pain, and slowly, learn to live and love again…

Helena, um talento em ascensão no tango, está profundamente apaixonada. Quando ela e seu grupo são aprovados em um teste para serem residentes de um prestigioso teatro em Buenos Aires, sua carreira parece destinada a decolar. Até que sua vida é atingida por uma tragédia: o homem por quem ela está apaixonada não a ama mais. Para Helena, que vive e canta o amor, este é o fim do caminho.
