Being an outcast, Saloi decides to leave the longhouse life to prove to the villagers that he can succeed in the big city. Touted as first Iban-Dayak feature film, "Saloi The Movie" opens May 2010, comedy about a villager in the big city.
20 Apr – Touted as the first Iban-Dayak feature film for theatrical release, "Saloi The Movie" will be making its mark in Malaysian cinemas this May 2010.


The story focuses on a young man named Saloi (newcomer Julius Ejau) who tries to make it big in the city. Monita Jeff takes the director's chair (known for her short film "I Love Sarawak" which won Best Cinematography at the Astro Kirana Festival 2008). According to Borneo Post, executive producer Benny Zach said: "The film aims to teach the Iban community to be positive and to destroy all negative thinking on all things especially of those not to their understanding."



The movie would be presented in high definition (HD) as suggested by local film enthusiast Dato Sri Edmund Langgu.
Shot entirely in Sibu and Sungai Durin, "Saloi The Movie" is an Iban-language movie with Malay subtitles. The comedy is scheduled to open in cinemas this 8 May for Kuching and Sibu. Audiences in Bintulu and Miri can catch this starting this 22 May. As for cinemas in Peninsular Malaysia, its Facebook page has indicated that the producers are trying to secure screenings in Johor Bahru.
