One thing that makes director Shankar special as a producer is his ability to churn out quality films. Glimpse through his previous productions and you’ll get the best illustrations. His maiden production Kadhal was a fantabulous romantic story while Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi was a hilarious take on King Pulikesi. His other production Arai En 305il Kadavul had a wonderful message for the universal audiences and his recent release Eeram was an extraordinary supernatural thriller with unexpected twists and turns.The filmmaker is now getting for the release of his next project titled Rettaisuzhi that features maverick moviemakers – K. Balachandar and Bharathiraja in lead roles. The film’s audio was recently launched by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and is now getting ready for release in May. Although, the film’s shooting was completed before a very long time, director Shankar wanted to release the film in April-May as the summer vacations would attract more audiences for this film. The film is directed by debutant Thamira and is produced by director Shankar under the banner of S Pictures.
When it comes to innovative casting and storyline, 'S' pictures lead the pack and from the Shankar has come out a new film, 'Rettaisuzhi'. The surprise element of the film is the casting of the two all-time greats K Balachander and Bharathiraaja. The film is directed by Thamira, who has earlier worked under K Balachander.
Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, who was in Chennai a couple of days back to release the audio of Rettaichuzhi, produced by Shankar’s ‘S’ Pictures. The highly paid actress of India is the heroine of director Shankar’s ‘Endhiran: The Robot’. The function, which was held in the auditorium inside the Sathyam Cinemas on Monday evening, witnessed a huge crowd and many celebrities of Kollywood.
The audio cassettes and CDs of Rettaichuzhi were released by Aishwarya and accepted by noted lyricist Vairamuthu.
Ash got up on her feet to greet when veteran directors K. Balachander and Bharathiraaja, who play pivotal roles in the film. All the speakers showered lot of [praise on the beauty queen. Shankar, who directed Aishwarya in his ‘Jeans’ more than a decade ago, said that Ash wasn’t present when the film’s audio was launched at that time.
Ash started to speak in Tamil and then later on switched to flawless English. She said that she felt very proud to be a part of the Tamil film fraternity. “It’s an honour for me to have been present at this place among the legends like Balachander and Bharathiraaja and I feel proud about it. I also feel happy that a woman is treated so respectfully at a public function like this!” said the beauty queen.
