Srinath (Kannada: ಶ್ರೀನಾಥ್), real name Narayana Swamy (Kannada: ನಾರಾಯಣ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ), is a Kannada cinema actor and the vice-president of Kannada TV Channel Udaya TV. He is also popularly known for his anchoring in the Game Show, Adarsha Dampatigalu (Kannada: ಆದರ್ಶ ದಂಪತಿಗಳು), meant for married couples competing on which pair is the ideal. Srinath is generally called with the nick-name Pranaya Raja (means, King of Romance) because of his success in various movies involving the love stories.
Srinath, starting from his second film Anireekshita directed by Nagesh Baba, was recognised as an actor with potential and became a popular hero. He has acted in over 200 films.[citation needed] His major films include Besuge (ಬೆಸುಗೆ), Manasa Sarovara (ಮಾನಸ ಸರೋವರ), Shubha Mangala (ಶುಭ ಮಂಗಳ) and Bangarada Manushya (ಬಂಗಾರದ ಮನುಷ್ಯ). In 1980, he got the
Best Actor Filmfare Award for the film Besuge. Srinath also won State Award as Best Actor for the film Sri Raghavendra Vaibhava.[2] Srinath was also preparing to direct a Kannada movie.
