Darshan has donned the police uniform for the third time in the film Arjun which again showcases his fighting and dancing skills with aplomb. And this brand of films has a huge following because of which Arjun was released with huge expectations.
With big hype built around its release, Arjun could have been a better offering if only its director Sahuraj Shinde had made efforts to present the film with a good script. But alas Shinde’s inefficient handling coupled with a weak and illogical story makes Arjun the weakest of Darshan’s films in recent times. For an actor who had given a blockbuster like Gaja only a few months ago, Arjun is certainly a big letdown.
It may be too much to expect a fully logical story in a commercial entertainer, but Arjun has too many holes in its story. Ill conceived sequences are in plenty in this film. And it is utterly laughable that the director does not know anything about police protocol. And coming to comedy sequences, it looks as if even the director did not know how to place Sadhu Kokila’s character. He comes as a petty thief in the beginning, but is transformed as a police inspector in the second half. And there is a sequence where the villain walks into a meeting of Senior Police officers and even advises the Police Chief about transfers. And the rich father of the hero does not have anything better to do other than to watch the cartoon network on Television. With so many illogical sequences, the content of the script weighs down and the film falls flat. And the film will certainly be a torturous viewing for even Darshan’s fans because of its slow pace of narration.
