National Day 2010
August 9 is National Day in Singapore, a celebration of Singapore's independence and a pretty great party to boot. As well as a parade and fireworks display, there's a good collection of fringe events to see. But if you haven't got yourself a ticket yet, you might have to make do with some of the other things going on around the city. Not to worry, there's a load of good stuff to get down to this weekend and on August 9 itself.
Two-way telecast of the celebratory activities into five heartland locations, namely Choa Chu Kang, Woodlands, Bishan, Sengkang and Eunos will be introduced by the organisers to expand the NDP mood and participation into the heart of the city. At the Padang, this will allow audiences in the heartlands to interact and engage with the activities. The official website (www.ndp.org.sg) of NDP was launched by Colonel Lim in which information about National Day Parade 2010 is given. The homepage of the website is made up of a montage of photographs taken and sent in by regular Singaporeans. To give insider perspectives of NDP preparations, guest bloggers have also been invited.
