The woman at the center of an investigation that brought down the boss of technology giant Hewlett-Packard cozied up to Aussie tennis star Mark Philippoussis on his reality TV show, it was revealed Sunday.
HP chief executive Mark Hurd, who has been credited with reinvigorating the company, resigned suddenly Friday, after an investigation of his relationship with a female contractor found he violated the company’s business standards.
The identity of the marketing contractor was revealed by the San Jose Mercury News Sunday as Jodie Fisher, a 50-year-old single mother and actress who most recently appeared in the reality TV show “Age of Love.”
In a statement Sunday released by her attorney, Gloria Allred, Fisher said she was “saddened” that Hurd lost his job as HP CEO.
“I was surprised and saddened that Mark Hurd lost his job over this,” said Fisher in her statement.
“That was never my intention.”
Fisher has appeared in various television shows and films, including a number of R-rated movies when she was in her 30s, Allred said.
A list of her films found on the Internet Movie Database includes the titles “Easy Rider — The Ride Back,” “Blood Dolls,” “The Outsider,” “Sheer Passion” and the unrated “Body of Influence 2.”
“Age of Love” was an American reality TV dating series that ran for one season in 2007.
The show featured then-30-year-old Philippoussis as he looked for love among a group of women ranging in age from their early 20s to their late 40s.
Fisher, then 46, was the first “cougar” to be eliminated from the show, in which she was presented as the vice president of a commercial real estate company. She appeared in two episodes.
Fisher worked as a HP marketing contractor between late 2007 and late 2009.
In her statement, Fisher said she and Hurd didn’t have an affair or a sexual relationship.
“Mark (Hurd) and I never had an affair or intimate sexual relationship. I first met Mark in 2007 when I interviewed for a contractor job at the company,” Fisher said in the statement.
“At HP, I was under contract to work at high-level customer and executive summit events held around the country and abroad. I prepared for those events, worked very hard and enjoyed working for HP.
“I have resolved my claim with Mark privately, without litigation, and I do not intend to comment on it further.
Fisher is a former actress who was at the center of a scandal that led to the resignation of HewlettPackard CEO Mark Hurd on 6th August The 50-year-old Fisher has been identified as the woman who filed sexual harassment charges against both HP and Hurd. While a probe ultimately found Hurd did not violate HP's sexual harassment policy, investigators did determine that there were "other violations of company standards."The investigation discovered that Hurd had "falsified expense reports" for dinners that she and Hurd had.
Fisher worked for HP as a contractor from 2007 To 2009 Her jobs involved organizing events for, and greeting, executives and potential customers. In a statement issued by her attorney,Gloria Allred, Fisher says she was "surprised and saddened" that Hurd lost his job." Fisher also says that she and Hurd "never had an affair or intimate sexual relationship." Fisher says she had "resolved her claim against Hurd privately, without litigation" adding that she wouldn't be commenting further about the matter.
