Miss US crowned Miss World 2010

Miss World 2010, the 60th Miss World pageant was held on October 30, 2010, in Sanya, People's Republic of China; after Vietnam backed out of the hosting contract. Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar Crowned her successor Alexandria Mills from United States as Miss World 2010.
Miss US Alexandria Mills, dressed in a crisp white evening gown, was crowned the 60th Miss World 2010 Saturday evening in China's Sanya city. Miss Botswana Emma Wareus, dressed in a yellow gown, was named the first runner-up ndian beauty Manasvi Mamgai, who even failed to find a place in the top 20, danced to the classical number Dhai shyam rok lai from the 2002 film Devdas. The 22-year-old was dressed in a traditional Indian attire.
Miss United States, Alexandria Mills, won the title of Miss World 2010 on Saturday, after defeating over 100 beauties from different countries, in an extravagant ceremony in Southern China.
Alexandria Mills was crowned Miss World 2010, while Miss Botswana Emma Wareus was 1st runner-up and Miss Venezuela Adriana Vasini came as 2nd runner-up at the Miss World 2010 beauty pageant contest in Sanya, China.
The gala event started with a traditional Chinese folk dance, and ended with the victory of Alexandria Mills as the winner of Miss World 2010, who started crying when the tiara was place onto her head. Along with the Miss World 2010 crown, Miss USA also got a diamond-shaped throne in honor of the Miss World pageant's 60th anniversary.
The winner of Miss World 2010, Alexandria Mills, has recently graduated from High School and aimed to become a teacher.
The jury of the Miss World 2010 contest included former Miss World winners, Denise Perrier Lanfranchi (1953), Ann Sidney (1964), Mary Stavin (1977), Agbani Darego (2001) and Maria Julia Mantilla (2004).
The gala-event kicked off with a traditional Chinese dance, followed by the introduction of the 120 contestants from across the globe. The contestants set the stage on fire with an aptly titled act "Dances of the World".
The glittering evening saw an opera performance, melodious symphony of saxophone and group performances by the contestants.
The jury included former Miss World winners Denise Perrier Lanfranchi (1953), Ann Sidney (1964), Mary Stävin (1977), Agbani Darego (2001) and Maria Julia Mantilla (2004).
