Hidalgo screenwriter John Fusco has been set to write the script for the 3D historical action pic Day of War, from GiantKiller Pictures, according to Risky Business.

David L. Cunningham will direct the adaptation of the first book of military veteran Cliff Graham's "Lion of War" series.

Cliff Graham's books re-create the early life and adventures of David before he became king of Israel. "Day of War" will publish in the spring.
