The son of the kopitiam tauke, Botak falls in love with this small little girl. In Botak's life, Da Jia Yu plays an important role. She accompanies Botak till they grow up. Botak secretly admires Da Jia Yu. Along the journey, he explores the meaning of true love, devotion and forgiveness.



Movie Reviews :
Who would have guess that Ah Niu, the Malaysian Singer who gave us the popular song "The Girl across the Street, Look Over here" had always wanted to be a director instead of a singer. After 'unexpectedly' achieved success as a singer, appearing films like Summer Holiday with Richie Ren and taking six years to write the screenplay for, he had finally achieved his directorial debut with Ice Kacang Puppy Love.
He brought along a cast of Malaysian artists that had found success in respective medium in the Taiwan and Asian entertainment field. There's Lee Sinje who is well known for being the Pang Brothers' squeeze for scream queen role in The Eye and Re-cycle. There's Victor Wong, the bespectacled singer who is probably well known as the former one half duo of Wu Yin Liang Pin. There's Gary Chaw, the popular Ballads singer who gave us the soulful "Betrayal" song and Fish Leong, the popular queen of love songs who gave us many songs to choose at karaoke.
It's a wise decision to cast these well known Malaysian artists. Their star power made this film interesting to watch and these Malaysian celebrities who had done well overseas had a very apparent camaraderie that transmit well onto the big screen. It helped to create a believable friendship between them within a short time frame, allowing the script to build on other elements of the movie.



The various character designs created for them were also memorable highlight of this movie. Lee Sinjie was a strong anchor as the main love interest for this movie. Her strong performance as the tough tomboyish girl (Fighting Fish) who got her own set of troubles made it engaging to watch. Then there's Victor Wong strumming away as the neat and tidy Prince Charming who wasnt' giving his best effort to fulfill his potential. Gary Chaw hammering it up as a Malaysian Ah Beng with a super strong Malaysian Mandarin accent that goes high pitch at the end of every sentence. Last but not least, Fish Leong's Barley Ping (Barley Ice), a (almost) silent femme fatele who's constantly sucking on a ice packet drink was easily the most likable and fun character among the supporting cast.
Beside those stars mention above, Ice Kacang Puppy Love was also filled with cameo appearance by the Bruce Lee lookalike Hong Kong artist (Danny Chan who found his breakthru in Stephen Chow's Shaolin Soccer) and Eric Moo (who was once thought to be a Singaporean artist). Among all the cameos, Eric Moo's role as the father of "Fighting Fish" was particularly memorable as the uncouth gambler who had a few words of wisdom about letting go to the young protagonists.

20 Apr – Touted as the first Iban-Dayak feature film for theatrical release, "Saloi The Movie" will be making its mark in Malaysian cinemas this May 2010.


The story focuses on a young man named Saloi (newcomer Julius Ejau) who tries to make it big in the city. Monita Jeff takes the director's chair (known for her short film "I Love Sarawak" which won Best Cinematography at the Astro Kirana Festival 2008). According to Borneo Post, executive producer Benny Zach said: "The film aims to teach the Iban community to be positive and to destroy all negative thinking on all things especially of those not to their understanding."



The movie would be presented in high definition (HD) as suggested by local film enthusiast Dato Sri Edmund Langgu.
Shot entirely in Sibu and Sungai Durin, "Saloi The Movie" is an Iban-language movie with Malay subtitles. The comedy is scheduled to open in cinemas this 8 May for Kuching and Sibu. Audiences in Bintulu and Miri can catch this starting this 22 May. As for cinemas in Peninsular Malaysia, its Facebook page has indicated that the producers are trying to secure screenings in Johor Bahru.

Seven girls and a netball game - sounds interesting, yes? A newcomer to the film industry, Intan Nor Saina plays the lead role together with Rosihan Zain and Sheikh Munasar promising something different then what is normally seen on the silver screen.


"Hooperz" revolves around the lives of seven girls in a netball team: Atylia (Intan Nor Saina), Saidatul (Anita Baharum), Wan Zulaikha (Melissa Maureen), Nino (Juliana Evans), AJ (Zazleen Zulkafli), Azwar (Akma Abdullah) and Sue Lin (Dawn Jeremiah, first runner up in Miss Malaysia World 2007/2008). Their team failed to perform well at the court due to the lack of teamwork among the girls and personal issues. The presence of coach D (Adibah Noor) in the team was to help the existing coach Q (Amy Mastura) to 'teach' and change the team's luck.
This is the first time moviegoers will see netball being portrayed in a drama or a local film. The reason behind this may possibly be because the sport is getting more popular amongst high school and college students. This film will definitely bring back some nostalgic memories for those who have played netball when they were younger. Focusing on family relationships, friendships and also team spirit, we got to watch how each character face their own troubles and sadness. The comedic elements help keep the film more interesting and less dreary. Even though the film seems to concentrate on the females as a 'target audience', the men are not neglected as they are served with an eyeful of cute girls and might even learn a thing or two about the sport.


Although Intan is the lead actress in this film, she seems to be overshadowed by Melissa who is more known to the public than her. Looking at the poster, Melissa was positioned in the centre, while Intan's face was not clearly visible. This does not imply that she can't act, but as a matter of fact, her acting was not disappointing at all! In addition, she has to portray a character with a deformity on her hand. For those who don't know, the actors have no experience in playing netball. After seeing the film, the viewers will be impressed with their performance after training for only three months.
Helmed as the current teenage comedy flick, "Hooperz" promises something different that will keep you entertained.

Rempt in V3 tells the story of a character named Rudy (Farid Kamil) and his best friend Brett (Palarae) who gets tangled in a big problem. Just Another Pandora's Box Malaysia movie reviews :
Could be that "V3: Samseng Jalanan" will be the last film we'll ever get to see in the cinemas about 'rempits'? If so, this isn't a bad bow by director Farid Kamil, who must be breathing a sigh of relief as this movie was reportedly banned previously when the government tried to ban all local movies with elements of 'rempit' and alternative sexuality.



We have all heard that so as to circumvent the censorship board, 20% of what was previously titled "Remp-It V3" had to be altered, including the movie title! However, producer David Teo is confident that the new title "V3: Samseng Jalanan" is even better and would entice audiences to watch it.
The difference between "V3: Samseng Jalanan" and the 2006 first movie by Farid, "Remp-It" is a heavier and more serious storyline. This time it's packed with more heavy duty and exciting stunts. The movie is about close friends Rudy (Farid Kamil) and Brett (Bront Palarae) whose friend dies in a road accident and drugs were found on his person. The duo run away to change their lifestyles but it gets from bad to worse when Rudy loses a bet in a road race against Garing (Aqasha).

Yesterday alhamdulillah berpeluang pergi menonton preview filem ‘Jumbo Gajah Biru’. Filem ni merupakan filem animasi terbitan Thailand. Animator dia ni pernah bekerja di Hollywood dan pernah terlibat dalam penghasilan filem-filem animasi meletups seperti Atlantis:The Lost Empire, Tarzan dan Ice Age :cheery:
So Astro telah mengambil peluang untuk mengedarkan filem animasi ni in Malaysia pulak. Filem ni akan mula ditayangkan di pawagan seluruh Malaysia mulai 11 Mac depan. So next week, dan nak mula cuti sekolah, boleh la adik-adik semua serang panggung wayang ya… :weather:
Honestly at first I lebih ‘teruja’ nak tengok filem animasi ni because Akim telah terpilih untuk voice over watak utama – Jumbo, dalam filem ni. Sila jangan cekik saya, hehehe :oops: Tapi lepas tengok trailer filem ni, dah mula teruja lebih lagi sbb nampak best juga ceritanya. Animasi asia tu beb, asia tenggara lagik, haruslah looking forward gak :wink:



I tak pandai la nak bagi review detail mengenai setiap perincian filem ni, tapi aku tau aku peminat movies, dan ya, saya suka gila cerita ni. Hoho. No no no no, bukan hanya sebab Akim voice over ya, tapi siyes, sangat best – tak boring, plot dan jalan cerita sangat menarik. But what I like the most is – unexpected thrill dia :!: Dan dalam thrill dan aksi ni semua pun, tak ketinggalan banyak juga unsur komedi yang menyeimbangkan suasana (betul ke ayat aku ni, huhu).
Lagi satu, yang penting, jalan ceritanya teratur ya, bukan main terjah sana sini ntah apa-apa macam kebanyakan filem-filem melayu, oppps. Matilaaa :P
Nak kritik sikit lah voice over Akim dalam filem ni, *tetibe sangat, hehe. Overall, not bad dan OK sangat in my opinion. Dan no no no no lagi skali, bukan sebab bias, tapi memang OK. Ada peningkatan penghayatan, ton suara semua dari lakonan bersiri ‘Kau & Aku’ dia tu. Menurut mereka (Akim & Mila) dalam PC selepas tayangan filem ini, mereka mengambil masa 2 hari, setiap hari selama 2 jam untuk complete kan proses dubbing ni. Buleh tahan :D

A group of university students travel to a village called Niyang Rapik to conduct research for their studies. There, they meet Laila (Liyana Jasmay), the daughter of the village headman.
However, due to a mistake they made before returning home, a year later, one of their friends die mysteriously. Soon, they return to Niyang Rapik to give back an item that they once took. Mysterious incidents and tragedies befall on them and Niyang Rapik is no longer the same.

After the success of "Adnan Sempit" and several other local films in 2009, film production company Metrowealth (MIG) together with director Ahmad Idham have once again collaborated on the new horror film "Niyang Rapik". The film has been brought to the silver screen after TV drama series "Puaka Niyang Rapik" managed to obtain high ratings, pulling in 4 million viewers when it was aired.
"Niyang Rapik" starts with Zack (Fizz Fairuz) who dies due to a horrible curse. His untimely death shocks four of his best friends - Helmi (Kamal Adli), Zizan (Shaheizy Sam), Saiful (Zed Zaidi) and Amir (Awal Ashaari). Thus, they journey to Niyang Rapik, a village where they've conducted research for their final-year history project, to return a karambit stolen by Zack. However, things in Niyang Rapik aren't as cheerful as before.
It does not take long before the action unfolds in "Niyang Rapik" and audiences are forced to guess what happened to Zack and his friends while they were in Niyang Rapik for the first time. Even though the storyline is simple, the twist is an added advantage to audiences' interest leaving the story to be quite engaging.

"Niyang Rapik" boasts an all-youthful cast. Liyana Jasmay is the only 'rose among the thorns'. Playing Laila, the daughter of Tok Neram (Nasir Bilal Khan), Liyana's character this time seems a lot different from her previous roles such as "Papadom" (2009) and "Duhai Si Pari-Pari" (2009) that had her playing cheerful characters. Liyana manages to convey her character's dark and mysterious side well. Other cast members such as Awal, Kamal, Shaheizy and Zed do not disappoint. Even though there are a large number of lead actors and there is a worry of one actor outshining the other, they manage to effectively convey their roles in their own way.
Other than the solid acting by the cast, viewers can also appreciate the beauty of Tasik Kenyir, Terengganu that was chosen as a filming location. Even the visual effects in "Niyang Rapik" were commendable. Viewers can look forward to seeing a stomach open up, a head in a jar, and many more.
"Niyang Rapik" has many factors to make it a box-office hit. Even though the success of a drama series does not usually guarantee success on the silver screen, films of the horror genre that includes a good-looking cast is enough to pull in audiences. The master of horror returns.
