The Story : Janakan movie is all about a villager Viswanathan (Suresh Gopi) who is a family man married to Nirmala (Kaveri) and is the father of a college going girl ( Priya). Due to certain circumstances Viswanathan and his friends get involved in a murder, and they are on the run. The friends can be saved only by one man- Advocate Suryanarayanan (Mohanlal). In the film Mohanlal makes a 20 minute cameo appearance as the brilliant criminal lawyer.
JANAKAN REVIEW:Janakan, the movie has been able to create a different atmosphere altogether but the emphasis to the storyline drops as more importance is shown to highlight the heroes. The director of the film, N R Sanjeevan, has tried out in experimenting a new theme. But somewhere we feel the story focus is somewhere. Now Viswanathan (Suresh Gopi), Monayi (Biju Menon) and Palani (Harisree Asokan) flee from the cops. After facing several obstacles, they manage to reach out to Sooryanarayanan (Mohanlal), an ace lawyer. They narrate their tragic and pathetic story to Sooryanarayan. Viswanathan's teenage daughter was brutally raped and murdered by a gang consisting of a highly rich and powerful businessman, a cop and a young DJ. The desperate father seek justice but Viswanathan was denied the needed justice. Angry father decides to revenge upon the trio who murdered his daughter. He, with the help of the other two kills the trio. Hearing the story Sooryanarayan decides to help them.
Prima face one will understand the story is handled in a conventional way. There are many similar instances portrayed in many films earlier in the industry. The cameo role played by Mohanlal with his rather counter dialogues is quite impressive and needs an applause. Now the story is all about a father fighting for the justice for his daughter. The father- daughter relation and the love bond is neglected. Hardly any emotion is executed in that point of view. Kaveri plays the role of wife to Suresh Gopi. He looks good in his role and the role portrayed by him in the film is somewhat similar to the one played by Pasupathy in Vairam.

Pappy Appacha Malayalam Film Reviews : Mama's Paappi Appacha doesn't break any new ground with a story that sounds as creaky as an old door that refuses to budge open. It's a predictable affair that strives to sail forward banking on a few assured gags that it hopes would be lapped up without fail. Haven't you heard the story of the father (Innocent) and son (Dilip) who are more like buddies, backslapping each other and generally making fools of themselves before the rest of the family and the whole world? Haven't you seen how they eventually fall apart when some crook (Ashokan) who has been waiting to put up a hedge between them finally does so? Haven't you been through that distressing half an hour thereafter when they finally get to realize as to what's what and who's who?
There have been infinitely better attempts at depicting the father-son combos in Malayalam films, and Paappi Appacha never falls into their league. The dad and son who have a ball at the local toddy shop is old story by now, and this is perhaps why they decided to use some fresh water. So we have Paappi and Appachan getting up in the morning and liberally sprinkling the courtyard through the window. Toilets can go down the drain, for all they care.
The culprit in a film as this is the story itself that struggles to pull the audience towards it. The material is too thin, and naturally, the options that it offers are insufficient. So it tells an oft-told story once again but midway through pauses at a juncture when the father and son go their separate ways. Now this is the dramatic moment that should swerve the film in a new direction, and its here that it makes an awkward transition and nosedives into silliness

T D Dasan Std VI B Review : Connoisseurs of good cinema finally have something to celebrate. Mohan Raghavan's T D Dasan Standard VI B offers a rare combination of subtlety and skillfulness in an affecting drama that's undoubtedly one of the best films that have come out in Malayalam in recent times. Dasan (Alexander) is a young boy in the sixth grade who lives with his mother Chandrika (Shwetha Menon) in a hilly village in Palakkad where the sky almost meets the earth. Chandrika works at a local matchstick factory and strives hard to make both ends meet. Dasan dreams of meeting his father Raghavan, who had deserted them when he was barely an year old, and who had disappeared into a busy city leaving his wife and son to fend for themselves.
The boy who accidentally comes across an old address in his mother's cloth box, sends a letter to his dad and keenly waits for a reply. Dasan and his words find their way into the letter box at Keystone Villa in Bangalore, where Ammu (Tina Rose), an eighth grader lives with her dad Nandakumar (Biju Menon), who is an ad maker. Ammu, who is much moved by the young boy's quest replies to him and reluctantly takes up the role of his father. Ammu's letter reaches a land of legends and mysteries where palm trees rustle against each other in the hot wind. We are told that they used to gently bow down before the climber long back and somewhere along the past stopped doing so, when the climber's wife turned adulterous. Dasan isn't sure as to what infidelity is, but he keeps hoping against hope that his mother hasn't done something wrong. Something that has brought a curse on them, and that has kept his father away. The boy's life gets sprinkled with fresh spurts of color as he rushes back home with the letter in his quivering hands. The disarming sincerity of his feelings start lending a new life to the broken framed photograph of his parents that had started to wither away with time. The emotional richness that refreshes his life is splattered in vibrant hues on a kite that he flies and that surges upward in a fresh gust of wind. The gentle social commentary that runs throughout the film has to be lauded for not being for even a moment pushy. The coexistence of several worlds that are as diverse from each other as they possibly could be, is a reality that has always been there. But there are very few instances when they are placed adjacent to each other so that the ignorance of one world regarding the existence of the other becomes strikingly apparent. So we have Ammu trying to beat that seemingly heroic record that Dasan has managed to procure by remaining under water for fifty six seconds in the village pond. Her attempts in the bath tub never bear fruit, but try she does. Much later, we get to see her again speeding to Dasan's village in her car, gulping down a nameless drink, never realizing that she's about to tread on a land that has been ruined beyond repair on account of a multinational soft drink giant that had set up its base there.
She knows nothing of what it is to live on a land that has been ravaged by human greed. Her intentions work on a different plane altogether, where she nurtures that flame of compassion for a boy whom she had never seen, but who has become an integral part of her life. Denial of rights and human displacement do not interest her at the moment, more individual and personal issues do. Dasan too has little time to spare for reconstructing the planet that is fast crumbling. Everything else around him get reduced to minuscule proportions as he basks in the ecstasy of having received a letter from his dad. He does take part in the human chain in support of the protest against the soft drink plant, and says that it was 'fun'. He goes green as well, and carefully plants the Ilanji tree that he has been entrusted with, as part of the Ente Maram project at school on the front yard. But a moment later, when his more immediate world is threatened by an axe that gets set to fell a mango tree that his father had planted, Dasan springs to its defence with a startling fierceness. There is another little surprise that Mohan Raghavan has in store for us, and this is in the way in which he experiments with possible options within the story itself. He does so by letting Nandakumar indulge in story discussions with his friends and exploring diverse ways in which the story would have progressed had the letter from the boy landed elsewhere. The frame shrinks down all on a sudden as the director dabbles with myth and fantasy only to be restored soon, as the narrative switches back to reality.

Nayakan Malayalam Film Synopsis : Indrajith's 'Nayakan' has been directed by debutante director Lijo Pellisseri, son of late actor Jose Pellisseri. Lijo, who has been active in the field of ad film making, ventures into fature films with 'Nayakan'.
'Nayakan' is in many ways a very important film for its hero Indrajith, in that it offers him an opportunity to prove his mettle. In the film Indrajith plays a Kathakali artist, who has to wage a battle against a world of crime and injustice. Essentially, the film is a revenge drama that promises to be a breath taking thriller as well. Indrajith has been steadily moving up his career, by doing roles that have managed to grab attention. Whether it be the moderately successful 'Malabar Wedding' or the runaway hit 'Happy Husbands', the young actor has gradually carved a niche for himself in the industry. What he badly needs though is a solo hit that would Establishment his credentials as a lead actor. Dhanya Mary Varghese, who was last seen in 'Drona' plays the female lead in the film. Siddiq plays the perfect foil to Indrajith's hero. The supporting cast comprises of Jagathy Sreekumar, Lalu Alex, Thilakan, Vijayaraghavan, Sreejith Ravi, Anil Murali and Kalashala Babu. The film has been scripted by P S Rafeq, and the music has been composed by Prashanth Pillai. Indrajith has crooned one of the songs in the film. Shot on locations in Malaysia and Kerala, 'Nayakan' will grace the theatres this summer.

Valiyangadi Malayalam Mullywood Film.India Film The film Directed by Salim Baba.
Valiyangadi Malayalam Film Synopsis : The Story : Valiyangadi movie is all about Ananthu (Manikuttan) who is a graduate born in a big ancestral family, who opted to become a head load worker.Valiyangadi Malayalam Mullywood Film.India Film The film Directed by Salim Baba. An idealist who wanted to prove the worth of every jobs, Ananthu easily became the leader of the entire trade union workers of Valiyangadi market in a very short while. Without any differentiation in politician, religion or language, every independent worker of the market adorned him as their unquestionable leader and hero, for whom they were ready to do anything.
Valiyangadi Bollywood movie Reviews : Valiyangadi is not an exact remake of the runaway hit of 1980, though the original spirit of the head load workers of Angadi remains the same. They are as agreeable as ever in Salim Bava's version as well, and as men with hearts of gold, they live in perfect harmony, with little money but with plenty of goodwill. Manikuttan gets to play Ananthu in the film who is the leader of the lot; a highly educated youngster who gives up his ambitions of higher studies for his family. That said and done, Valiyangadi is not exactly an appreciable effort at film making that would have you drooling all over it. And the major reason that contributes to this lack of interest on the part of the viewer is that the story that is as old as the Kozhikode bazaar itself has little new to offer. The script is what suffers from serious deficiencies, mostly related to creativity. The dialogues aren't any better. Lets take the scene for instance when Gowri (Varada) talks of her love towards Ananthu. In an emotional outburst, the girl proclaims that if she were to weigh her love and her IAS aspirations on the two pans of a balance, her love would totally outweigh the latter. This is a film that depends entirely on its action sequences to keep the time rolling. The action is nothing much to crow about either sadly. There are the regular fisticuffs of course, but nothing to make your jaw drop in amazement. What is indeed amazing is the way in which villains drop out of the sky in the film. To start with we have someone called Kottarathil Pappachan calling the shots. Just as we get used to him, along comes John Christopher who warns that the second half is going to be one with several setbacks for Ananthu. He disappears without a trace and someone called Asal Alam Khan makes a momentary climactic appearance before being shown the exit.
