I'm not a film critic, but I had to comment on this film, and urge you to see it when it's released. It's touching, sad, uplifting and very real.


Every character's performance was brilliant, from an exquisitely understated Lee Merriweather, to the "challenged" Uncle, who could have ONLY been played by Brad Doriff, to the father, played by the incredible Ed Harris. You hate him, you feel sorry for him, you hate him again and finally your heart breaks for him. Even those with smaller roles were completely believable (thanks to an outstanding script).


How did these "kids" manage to assemble such a cast for their first film! And they can act, too!
I wasn't watching a movie... I was allowed to share a family's precious and not-so-precious memories. I will not forget this experience. And I look forward to saying "I knew them when..."

A volcano eruption in southern Iceland has brought its impact to Hollywood. Paramount Pictures which was set to hold the world premiere of "Iron Man 2" in London, England has to scrap their plan because most flights in Europe have been banned since Mount Eyjafjallajokull began erupting on Wednesday, April 14. The studio now moves the April 26 event to Los Angeles.
Still about "Iron Man 2" promotional efforts, ET Online has got its hand on a brand new featurette from the film. Aimed to highlight the villains, the video mostly shares fresh scenes which include Mickey Rourke's Ivan Vanko/Whiplash and Sam Rockwell's Justin Hammer.
"We did whip training; we used bullwhips," Mickey says in the featurette about his character's signature weapons. Meanwhile, Sam explains his character as "a rival arms dealer to Tony Stark." He then adds, "Our characters are so much the opposite that it works pretty well."
Paramount Pictures has additionally released some new pictures which still capture major characters such as Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, Nick Furry and Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow among others.
"Iron Man 2" will follow billionaire inventor Tony who is asked to share his technology after the world knows that he is the man behind the armored superhero Iron Man. Plot:
About the struggle between the Roman Empire and its rebellious conquest Judaea, and two best friends caught in a terrible moment in history.This is not too surprising, when one considers that the drama in "Ben-Hur" has a peculiar relationship and relevance to political and social trends in the modern day. Its story of a prince of Judea who sets himself and the interests of his people against the subjugation and tyranny of the Roman master race, with all sorts of terrible consequences to himself and his family, is a story that has been repeated in grim and shameful contexts in our age. And where the parallels might be vague in the novel, which was first published, after all, away back in 1880, they could be made clearer in the film.
This pertinent theme of the story is appropriately and grippingly conveyed in some of the most forceful personal conflicts ever played in costume on the giant screen. Where the excitement of the picture may appear to be in the great scenes, such as those of the ancient sea battle in which Ben-Hur is involved as a galley slave or those of his final contention with Messala, the Roman tribune, in a mammoth chariot race, the area of fullest engrossment is the scenes of people meeting face to face—Ben-Hur verbally clashing with Messala, a Roman soldier suddenly looking upon Jesus.

Movie Information:
There's never any shortage of bad movies in theaters, but how many can say they've shown a good movie about a bad movie? That opportunity will come this spring, when Best Worst Movie -- Michael Stephenson's documentary about the legendarily awful Troll 2 -- finally hits theaters.
The distributor is Area23A, a brand-new company formed by Richard Abramowitz and Kirt Eftekhar, both of whom have plenty of experience getting small independent films into theaters. Best Worst Movie premiered at South By Southwest last year (here's Will Goss' favorable review) and has since played at more than 15 other fests, winning prizes at four of them. It's been a hit with festival audiences; hopefully regular moviegoers will be charmed by its deconstruction of a cult classic, too.
Speaking of which, you'll definitely appreciate Best Worst Movie more if you've seen Troll 2 (and you will appreciate Troll 2 more if you've been drinking heavily). A double feature seems like a no-brainer, maybe as a special event in select cities. The head honchos at Area23A say they have plans for that very thing, the details of which are forthcoming.
So far, all we have on the Best Worst Movie release is "spring," but we'll keep you posted when the exact date is announced. In the meantime, check out the doc's trailer after the jump.

Synopsis:
Aaron (Chris Rock) is a well-mannered and hard working young man, married to Michelle (Regina Hall), and still living at his father's home. Movie Information:
This movie is a remake of a 2007 movie of the same name: Death at a Funeral (2007). Although Hollywood has a history of making American versions of foreign films, the original versions are usually in a language other than English. This is not the case here, however, since the original film was a British production and filmed in English, with an American director (who was, as it happens, born in Britain), and several American actors (including Peter Dinklage, who reprises his role in the remake). This is a very unusual case of a remake being made very quickly of an English-language movie that had a theatrical release in the US (albeit not a very successful one).

Reviews:
It's tough to make ensemble comedies work. Ever since "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" crammed everyone who ever cracked a joke in the first half of the 20th Century into one movie, the logic has been that the more funny people you can get in one place, the funnier your movie will be.
The problem that typically arises is that the funny people end up cancelling each other out and wind up looking constrained or struggling while trying to adapt to the various comedic styles.
"Death at a Funeral" is an ensemble comedy that often works in spite of stars like Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence and Tracy Morgan because most of the laughs come from broad, slap-stick situations, instead of the skills of the individual actors.
This is a movie that takes the "What Else Can Go Wrong" formula of comedy and applies it to a dysfunctional family that has just lost its patriarch.
Rock plays it straight as the eldest son trying to hold it all together. Not only does he have to deal with his grieving mother (Loretta Devine), but his wife who is desperately trying to get pregnant (Regina Hall), his narcissistic younger brother (Lawrence) and a whole slew of oddball aunts, uncles and cousins who show up for the funeral.
This film always feels slightly askew which is telling in that the biggest laughs in the movie don't really come from any of the comedians.

Movie Reviews :
Since I've watched MUSA (The Warrior) a few years ago, I'm kinda spoiled. It's really difficult for any other movie, that sets out to outdo MUSA. I haven't watched any movie who could outdo it. Warlords didn't achieve that either, but it's still a very good movie. Which is thanks to the stellar cast (performances), which include Andy Lau, Jet Lee and Takeshi Kaneshiro.
Unfortunately the first time I watched the movie, I did see the dubbed (english) version of it (with Greek subtitles). I couldn't really enjoy it, because quite frankly the dubbing was really bad (you can't re-create a certain mood), but I had the chance to see it again recently and as expected I did like it a lot. I even saw a few new things, character bits in it. It has also great (battle) fight scenes in it, it has a political side to it and small love story. If you're not afraid of watching an Eastern or even better, you like watching them, than you should give this a try!
Last night I had the opportunity to view one of the best films i've seen in a very long time. One that stays with you far after the closing credits. One that requires time after viewing to untie all the knots in your stomach.
Peter Chan's "The Warlords" is a period epic in every sense of the word. Chan covers a lot of ground here depicting war and the consequences thereof consisting of his anti-war sentiments. It tells the story of three "brothers" played brilliantly by Jet Li (Fearless), Andy Lau (Infernal Affairs) and Takeshi Kaneshiro (House Of Flying Daggers) who make a pact of brotherhood to one another that consists of killing anyone who harms one of the brothers and killing any brother who harms another brother as they lead an army through war after war taking over city after city.
It's incredible to watch the thought process of making vital decisions during a battle or within their own army to defy humanity for the "greater good". It shows the internal and external struggle of these decisions by opposing points of view. The emotions felt by these men translate in any language and leave you emotionally drained after watching the film through to its tragic end.
