Jackie Earle Haley On Set Interview A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET:
When A Nightmare on Elm Street was filming last June in Chicago, I was invited - along with a few other online journalists - to watch filming one night and also interview some of the cast. While I’ve conducted many interviews while working for Collider, I’ll admit the interview with Jackie Earle Haley was definitely memorable. That’s because Haley did the interview while in full Freddy makeup! And on top of that, I was sitting directly to his right, so when he was answering other people’s questions, I was starring right at his head and blown away by the level of detail. Trust me, when you see a close-up of Freddy in the movie, you’re going to think you’re looking at a burn victim.
While the interview was conducted late at night and even though the make-up was difficult on Haley, he couldn’t have been nicer. He talked to us about the challenges of acting under the make-up, does he have empathy for Freddy, working on the finding the voice, was he nervous to sign on for multiple films, going from Watchmen’s Rorschach to this, and so much more. It’s a great interview, and you can either read or listen to it after the jump:
As always, here’s the audio of the interview. And if you’ve missed the teaser trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street, watch it first and then read the interview:
Freddy Krueger returns in A Nightmare on Elm Street, a contemporary re-imagining of the 1984 horror classic directed by Wes Craven. A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another ... but when they sleep, there is no escape. Donning Freddy’s trademark fedora, red-and-green striped sweater, and four-bladed glove is Academy Award nominee Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen). The teens whose dreams are terrorized by Freddy Krueger are played by an ensemble of young actors, including Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Rooney Mara, Thomas Dekker, and Kellan Lutz. The supporting cast also includes veteran character actor Clancy Brown and Connie Britton. Samuel Bayer is directing from a screenplay by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer.

Long before YouTube, there were the outrageous, no-budget movies of underground, filmmaking twins George and Mike Kuchar. George and Mike grew up in the Bronx in the 1950’s. At the age of twelve, they became obsessed with Hollywood melodramas and began making their own homespun melodramas with their aunt’s 8mm camera. They used their friends and family as actors and their Bronx neighborhood as their set. Early Kuchar titles featured in this film include “I Was A Teenage Rumpot” and “Born of the Wind”.
In the early 1960’s, alongside Andy Warhol, the Kuchar brothers shaped the New York underground film scene. Known as the “8mm Mozarts”, their films were noticeably different than other underground films of the time. They were wildly funny, but also human and vulnerable.
Their films have inspired many filmmakers, including John Waters, Buck Henry, Atom Egoyan, Guy Maddin and Wayne Wang (all are interviewed in this film). Despite having high profile fans, the Kuchars remain largely unknown because they are only ambitious to make movies, not to be famous.
“It Came From Kuchar” interweaves the brothers’ lives, their admirers, a history of underground film and a “greatest hits” of Kuchar clips into a mesmerizing stream of consciousness tale.
Affectionately directed by one of George’s former students, Jennifer M. Kroot, “It Came From Kuchar” will introduce you to the amazing Kuchar brothers – two brothers who love to make movies and continue to inspire others.

The Bounty Hunter hollywood Review :
A bounty hunter learns that his next target is his ex-wife, a reporter working on a murder cover-up. Soon after their reunion, the always-at-odds duo find themselves on a run-for-their-lives adventure.
Milo Boyd (Gerard Butler), a down-on-his-luck bounty hunter, gets his dream job when he is assigned to track down his bail-jumping ex-wife, reporter Nicole Hurly (Jennifer Aniston). He thinks all that's ahead is an easy payday, but when Nicole gives him the slip so she can chase a lead on a murder cover-up, Milo realizes that nothing ever goes simply with him and Nicole. The exes continually one-up each other - until they find themselves on the run for their lives. They thought their promise to love, honor and obey was tough - staying alive is going to be a whole lot tougher
The movie centers on a bounty hunter Milo (Butler) hired to retrieve his ex-wife Cassidy Daley (Aniston), who has skipped bail.
“The Bounty Hunter” is directed by Andy Tennant, who has brought us movies previously which include “Fool’s Gold,” “Hitch” and “Sweet Home Alabama,” from the script written by Sarah Thorp.
The comedy which stars Jennifer Aniston, Gerard Butler, Jason Sudeikis, Dorian Missick, Joel Marsh Garland and Christine Baranski will hit theaters on March 19, 2010.

By popular demand, here’s the trailer for The Bounty Hunter, starring Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston, from director Andy Tennant, previously of Fool’s Gold, Hitch, and Sweet Home Alabama. The plot is very complicated, so try to keep up: Gerard Butler’s character… is a bounty hunter. He has to track down… are you still with me? …his ex-girlfriend. And get this, his ex-girlfriend is played by… Jennifer Aniston. You catch all that? Phew, I feel like this needs a Cliff’s Notes or something with all those twists and turns.
Side note: Have you noticed a weird trend lately where every rom-com deals with a guy falling back in love with his ex? This one, It’s Complicated, Fool’s Gold, Ghost of Girlfriends Past — I feel like there’s a Slate article or Sociology Thesis here. I’d write a rom-com about rekindling my own past relationships, but I don’t think anyone wants to see a guy fall for a pile of rocks in the desert.

Blood Into Wine English Hollywood Film. The The Film Director by Ryan Page, Christopher Pomerenke.

Blood Into Wine English Film Synopsis:
Keenan’s various musical entities (Tool, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle) have sold over 10 million records in the US alone while the man himself has revealed little of his personal life. “Blood Into Wine” gives unprecedented insight into Keenan’s world and his motivations for taking on the arduous task of bringing winemaking to the region’s unforgiving landscape and how winemaking fits into Keenan’s creative trajectory.

The film is being co-directed by Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke (the filmmakers behind critically acclaimed documentaries Moog and The Heart Is A Drum Machine) and is set to wrap production in September with a limited theatrical release in February and March 2010. With the striking setting playing such an integral role in the shaping of this story, Page and Pomerenke elected to use a Red One camera (one of the highest quality digital cinema cameras available). The film is being shot by Cary Truelick, edited by Rob Beadle, and produced by Ryan Page, Christopher Pomerenke, Chris McDaniel, and Jason Stall.
Blood Into Wine Hollywood Movie Reviews :
The documentary "Blood Into Wine," directed by Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke, follows Maynard James Keenan and Eric Glomski as they attempt to start a stable of wineries in northern Arizona. Winemaking, you say? In Arizona? That is exactly the response the film is designed to address, as it includes background on the history of the region and winemaking (as well as some handsome nature photography) while making the pitch for the area to possibly be the next Napa.

Keenan's other job is as a rock star, a creative force behind the art-metal of Tool and A Perfect Circle as well as the parody cabaret of Puscifer. The frisson between his well-crafted personal mystique and the way the film presents him as a dedicated new winemaker learning his craft is intriguing. (Scenes of fans at a wine bottle signing event put his two sides in sharp relief.)
Appearances by diverse pals actress Milla Jovovich and comedian Patton Oswalt -- shot at the Silverlake Wine store -- as well as Wine Spectator's European bureau chief James Suckling -- also serve as a reminder that Keenan circulates in a number of realms.

The film's biggest problem is that it can never decide exactly what it wants to be -- a portrait of Keenan, a look at winemaking or a blatant promotional effort for Arizona wine valley tourism. Keenan's persona is layered enough to remain engaging despite all the sidestepping by the filmmakers; unfortunately, their film is not.

Easy Virtue English Hollywood Film. The film Directed by Stephan Elliott.

Plot Summary:
A young Englishman marries a glamorous American. When he brings her home to meet the parents, she arrives like a blast from the future - blowing their entrenched British stuffiness out the window.

Easy Virtue English Film Synopsis :
The Story : Easy Virtue is a social comedy film based on Noel Coward's play of the same name. A young Englishman marries a glamorous American. When he brings her home to meet the parents, she arrives like a blast from the future - blowing their entrenched British stuffiness out the window.
Between world wars, the Whittaker's estate is sinking; only the iron will of Mrs. Whittaker staves off bankruptcy while she awaits her son John's return from the continent. To her dismay, he brings a bride: an American widow who races cars. The bride, Larita, thinks she and John will visit and then go to London, where he'll work and she'll race. But John is to the manor born, and mother is nothing if not a master at plans and manipulation.
Soon it's all-out war between mother and bride, with John's father, a burnt out veteran of the Great War, in the bride's corner ineffectually. Mother has a plan to join with the neighboring estate; only Larita is in her way. Can't we all get along?

Easy Virtue Hollywood film Review :
While I normally prefer film versions of famous plays to be as faithful as possible to the original works, this lovingly opened up, perfectly cast and filmed elaboration of Noel Coward's very edgy "comedy" - a treatise on post-WWI morality and the culture shock Britain went through - would almost certainly have made the Master enormously proud. It certainly provides more quality entertainment than any intelligent audience has been served up in many an intellectually sterile, bombastically overcharged year at the cineplex.

Usually when a film leaves you feeling that you've experienced a full evening in only just over an hour and a half, it's an indictment of the plodding pace and dragged out text - but not in the case of this fast paced, lavishly set piece fairly packed with ideas and events. The period references (perfectly chosen Coward, Porter and other period and period style music, news clippings of "current" events like Houdini's death, the "latest" 1920's farm equipment, "advanced" books, etc.) used to enhance our trip back in time come thick and fast in the first minutes only to be followed in just as quick order by the elements of culture shock Ben Barnes' John Whittaker brings back to his BRIDESHEAD REVISITED-style household along with his new American wife, played by the film's impressive technical lead, Jessica Biel.
So "opened up" is the piece in fact (on second viewing, the period references and extra "bits" like the inappropriate, MAME-like, fox hunt joke and questionable dog bit - while both undeniably funny - almost seem TOO thickly layered on), that the "secret" around which Coward's original play turned is unnecessarily "ratcheted up" and left for rather late in the evening - somewhat as Coward himself did with many of his plot points in his other comedy of ill manners revolving around ill scheduled visits to another country home of the same original year, HAY FEVER.

Easier with Practice English Hollywood Film. The film Directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez .

Easier with Practice English Film Plot::
In an effort to promote his unpublished novel, Davy Mitchell sets out on a road trip with his younger brother. However, the idealism of being on the road wears off and it quickly proves to be a lonely and unfulfilling experience for Davy. One night in a motel room he gets a random phone call from a mysterious woman named Nicole. They start a funny and intimate long distance relationship that leaves Davy happier than he has been in years. Hoping there is more to the relationship then a voice and a phone bill, Davy decides he wants to meet Nicole. Ultimately, he will have to face not only the truth about their relationship but also about himself.

Easier with Practice Hollywood film Review :
It's hard to classify 'Easier with Practice'. The film fits rather perfectly into the overall 'indie' category but beyond that, it's more an amalgam of genres. 'Practice' is a bit of a buddy picture as the two main characters are brothers who go on the road for over half of the film's screen time. But it's also a mystery, with a welcome 'twist' ending.
Davy Mitchell (Brian Geraghty) has gone on the road to publicize his unpublished collection of short stories at various bookstores and college campuses around the country. Accompanying him is his brother, Sean, who's chief goal during this trip is to pick up girls. One night at their motel room, while Sean is outside, Davy gets a random phone call from a woman with a sexy voice who identifies herself as 'Nicole'; they immediately start having phone sex together, with a long-winded scene of Davy masturbating as Nicole arouses him.
The phone sex continues throughout Davy's book tour but the aspiring writer begins having more extended conversations with Nicole and he soon finds himself falling in love with her. Nicole refuses, however, to give Davy her own number so he must always wait for her call. Meanwhile, Sean eventually finds out about the mysterious caller and mocks his brother for his obsession.
The two finally return home where we learn that Davy supports himself as a temp worker but right now can't find employment. Sean and his girlfriend invite Davy over to a party where he runs into Samantha, a woman who he had a brief fling with some time ago. Davy begins dating Samantha after Nicole stops calling him. Apparently, Nicole would not give in to Davy's demand to see him in person. After Davy doesn't hear from Nicole for weeks he becomes depressed and realizes that he has no desire to reciprocate Samantha's affection.

Finally, Nicole calls back and they agree to meet. Davy purchases a plane ticket and flies to the city where Nicole lives. She initially cancels a dinner date but then agrees to see Davy the next day at a chain restaurant in the afternoon. I won't give away the surprise ending but Nicole doesn't turn out to be who Davy thinks she is.
'Easier with Practice' is a very slow-paced film. The many scenes where Davy is on the phone with Nicole are static from a visual standpoint. Nonetheless, first time writer/director Kyle Patrick Alvarez manages to convey the loneliness of the depressed writer through a series of evocative visual images throughout the film.
