Late EVV Satyanarayana had directed Aha Naa Pellanta with Dr Rajendra Prasad in the lead role and it was a non-stop entertainer. Though, the latest film with the same title directed by Veerabhadram, a protégé of EVV, has nothing to do with the earlier film, it is second to none in terms of entertainment and the film is quite hilarious for all the two hours of its run. The film is made on the lines of Dhee. The most interesting point in the film is that Allari Naresh, who used to dominate the film with his performance, has downplayed in this film giving opportunity to the movement of the film on situational comedy. Srihari, Brahmanandam, Subbaraju and Samrat took the lead in the perfect running of the film on a comedy note. Read on for Aha Naa Pellanta review.
Story:
Subrahmanyam aka Subbu (Allari Naresh) is a software engineer, who was brought up by his maternal uncle (Ahuti Prasad), a doctor. He searches for an alliance to his innocent nephew but could not get a suitable girl. However, Subbu has a soft corner towards his colleague Madhu (Anita) and secretly loves her. But Madhu is fond of rich living. Subbu works in a firm managed by Busy Balaraj (Brahmanandam). Once Balaraj throws a party and Subbu gets drunk. By the time he wakes up, he finds a Sanjana (Ritu Barmecha) by his side in his house. Sanjana’s elder brother Durga (Srihari) and two other brother (Subbaraju and Samrat) thrash Subbu and force him to marry their sister alleging that Subbu is in love with their sister. They invite Subbu to meet their father JJ (Nagineedu). Being intelligent, Subbu gets the video CD of the CC camera in the bar and finds that the three brothers played the drama and arranged all this. At this juncture, Madhu tells Sanjana that Subbu did not love her and is favouring her. Sanjana in turn tells her brothers that they can threaten Subbu and get married to her but it is absurd to marry someone who doesn’t love her. Meanwhile, love guru (Vennela Kishore) enters the scene. What happens next should be seen on-screen.
Performance:
Allari Naresh has given his best performance. However, his character has underplayed giving more scope for the narration of the story with the help of other artistes like Srihari, Brahmanandam, Subbaraju, Samrat and others. Once again, Srihari has given a hilarious performance on the lines of Dhee and he lived up to the expectations. Surprisingly, Subbaraju and Samrat also played roles have laced with perfect comedy. The director has used Brahmanandam to the fullest. Nagineedu has delivered an honest performance, as a factionist. Ahuti Prasad has done justice to his role. Among the female artistes, though a debutant Ritu Barmecha had done justice to her role.
Technical:
Raghu Kunche has tried his hand in music direction for this film and a couple of songs are quite melodious. Especially, the marriage song ‘Pellichesukora Subrahmanyam…’ is very catchy and good to hum. He has also remixed a song ‘Chinukulaa Raali…’ from Nalugu Sthambhalata, which is quite melodious and perfect. Background score by Koti could have been a little better as it has failed to elevate certain scenes. Cinematography by Lok Nath is just okay. The colour mixing in the first song is a good experiment. Editing by MR Varma is apt, as none of the scenes appeared lengthy and boring. The director has come up with an interesting storyline with perfect presentation and simple narration. Though there are some jerks in screenplay here and there, the comedy has helped to ignore such scenes. The director has not lost grip on the subject at any given time.
Remarks:
At a time, when the film lovers are of the opinion that they are not getting good movies to watch, this film could be a perfect solace for them. After doing a day’s hard work or feeling very tired with daily chores, you can go to the movie and get the adequate relief by having a hearty laugh. It is a must watch film for all those, who need complete entertainment. Allari Naresh has proved that he is the producers’ hero with a perfect guarantee (leave alone minimum guarantee) for their investment. Debutant Veerabhadram has given a fitting tribute to his mentor EVV by dedicating the film to him.
