One of those directors, Matt Reeves (Cloverfield), has his new movie, Let Me In, a remake of the Swedish film Let the Right One in, opening in theaters this weekend. We recently had an opportunity to speak with the star of that film, fourteen-year old Australian actor Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road), and we thought it would be fun to ask him if he had heard about Reeves being up for the job of directing Superman. "Oh wow, I have not heard about that at all but that would be awesome if he directed a Superman movie," Smit-McPhee replied. We continued by asking the self-admitted comic book fan if he thought the director was the right choice for the job. "I know it's his kind of style so I think he would be great at it." Finally, we asked Smit-McPhee, who was actually originally cast as young Logan in X-Men Origins: Wolverine but had to exit that project due to his commitment to The Road, if there were any characters in the Superman universe that he would be interested in playing, like maybe a young Kal-El or Jimmy Olsen. "I don't know? Playing a young Superman would be awesome!"
Superman comes to theaters in 2012.
