Actor Vikram says that the film Raavanan was screened during the third week of Venice International Film Festival and the auditorium was packed with around 700 international audiences, amongst which there were less than a dozen of Indians. Soon after the screening, the audiences gave away standing ovation nearly for 10 mins.
Adding more, Vikram said, “I was surprised to see that the audiences didn’t understand the language and yet they responded well. They really loved the song ‘Usure Poguthey’ and started dancing along for the song ‘Kodu Potta’. When we were asked to come upon the dais, one of the Italian superstars expressed his wish to work with Mani Ratnam in an Italian film. Whatever maybe the results, Mani Ratnam remains the same, but for the first time I could see his eyes were filled with unrestrained happiness.”
The actor also mentioned that his responsibilities have literally increased now and assured that he will continue working harder for the best results for his future projects.
Vikram has now signed a film to be directed by AL Vijay of Madrasapattinam fame and the film will go on floors by next month.
