The story of the Kannada film Kiran Bedi has no connection with the real life incidents that happened in the life of the much celebrated Delhi based Police officer Kiran Bedi.
The story is a fictional one. But Om Prakash Rao has retained his reputation as the remix specialist through this film. Kiran Bedi has the story which is a mix of several non Kannada films and it has been largely influenced by Telugu film 'Vikramarkudu'. Just a week ago, Sudeep starrer Veera Madakari, a remake of Vikramarkudu was released. Andhra Kiran Bedi Telugu Film Review:
Still Kiran Bedi has elements which can appeal to the mass audience. The film's strength is the action sequences which have been choreographed with rich production values. And the film's fast pace is certain to enthuse the audience. Though the story lacks any original link, the narration is filled with commercial elements.
But there are some important things that the director has missed in the film. He has not done his homework properly while writing the script of the film. And it looks as if story writer Janardhana Maharshi has also been included in discussions as you find lot of sequences of successful Telugu films being included in the film. Om Prakash should have cared to edit the length of the film which is nearly three hours. Some of the sequences in the film need to be chopped off.
There are lot of factual errors in the film which could have been avoided. Kalasipalya is a ward which is only a part of Chamarajpet constituency, but in the film Kalasipalya is shown as an Assembly constituency. Even a school boy knows that there are 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state, but Om Prakash thinks it to be 29 and even incorporates it in a dialogue of the film.
And there has been no code of conduct seen during the election time. The Police officer brazenly supports her own propped up candidate without getting warned by any officials of the Election Commission.
